The heroine of the series “Ginny and Georgia” joked that the singer Taylor Swift is smartly changing boyfriends. The singer called this joke sexist.
Taylor Swift outraged the newest Netflix series Ginny and Georgia, whose characters joked about the singer’s individual life.
In one scene, teenage girl Ginny tells her mother Georgia that she “changes uncles better than Taylor Swift.”
The singer commented on the joke on her Twitter page: “Hey, Ginny and Georgia, here they call from 2010 and ask them to return this sexist joke back.”
Taylor urged to “stop humiliating women who drink.”
She also recalled that Netflix is still broadcasting her documentary: “After Miss Americana, you, Netflix, this does not suit you.”
Swift’s breathers spoke out in defense of the singer. They noted that such jokes are not appropriate in a series promoting feminism. Fans called them “obsolete.”
“I loved the show until that Taylor joke came out,” one Internet user said.
In the past, Taylor Swift had a rich individual life: the performer had affairs with Calvin Harris, Tom Hiddleston, Harry Styles and John Mayer. The last four years, the singer meets with the artist Joe Alvin.
