The head of Syria, Bashar al-Assad, sent greetings on the occasion of the upcoming New Year to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Russian people.
According to the SANA agency, Assad sent “warm and heartfelt congratulations” and good wishes. In particular, he would like the year 2021 “to bring Russia even more success and progress in all areas.”
In addition, the Syrian leader hopes that Moscow and Damascus will be able to achieve new successes in the fight against terrorism in the next 12 months together, as well as continue to strengthen bilateral relations.
Recall that in November, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit that the unstable situation in the Middle East and North Africa remains dangerous. According to him, the gangs in Syria and North Africa are sources of terrorist threats, the spread of drugs and weapons.
