On November 16, the State Duma in the first reading adopted the draft law of “United Russia” on additional payments to the coaches of champions. They will be received by mentors who have brought up the winners of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games.

According to one of the authors of the initiative, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation Daniila Bessarabova from the United Russia faction, the document is intended to support the hard work of mentors who play an important role in the training of athletes.

“It is the coach who plays an important role in the training of an athlete, forms personality, instills perseverance, fosters character, molds future champions. The important role of a coach is in the colossal dedication on the verge of self-sacrifice, ”he said.

Earlier, the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs recommended adopting in the first reading a bill on a monthly supplement to the pension of coaches who prepared Olympic and Paralympic champions. The initiative was developed by a group of deputies and senators headed by the Secretary of the General Council of “United Russia” Andrey Turchak and vice speaker of the State Duma Sergei Neverov from the United Russia faction.

Currently, the increase in pension is due to the champions of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games. According to the authors of the document, the coach who prepared the champion “deserves to receive social support equally with his athlete.” The amount of the additional payment will be 12 thousand 585 rubles per month. The implementation of the bill will cost 30.2 million rubles a year. The funds are planned to be allocated from the federal budget.
