The consular district of the US Embassy in Moscow will expand to cover the entire territory of the Russian Federation from April 1, said John Sullivan, US Ambassador to Moscow. His statement was published by the website of the United States diplomatic mission.
Earlier, Sullivan said that the work of the American Consulate General in Yekaterinburg is planned to continue, but from April 1, visas will no longer be issued there.
“The US Embassy in Moscow will provide services to US citizens in the Russian Federation. The embassy will also provide visa services as efficiently and promptly as possible, given the limited staff, ”the diplomat added.
He also stressed that everything possible is being done to ensure the safety and well-being of Americans and to facilitate legal travel for Russians to the United States.
