Businessman Yuri Khokhlov was shot because of business disputes.
A daring murder took place in Tambov – a well-known businessman Yuri Khokhlov, who was called the “sugar king”, was shot there. It all happened because of business disagreements.
According to eyewitnesses, the businessman flew to the village of Rudovka the day before, where he personally examined the fields of the agricultural company, which is registered with him. During the tour, he met with a longtime competitor, 49-year-old entrepreneur Vladimir Levkin.
He believed that the field of 150 hectares, which formally belongs to Khokhlov, is in fact his property. Every year he invested in sunflower sowing, which was then destroyed by the employees of his company at the direction of the “sugar king”.
For four years there was a struggle between businessmen, which eventually turned into a tragedy. In the morning Levkin arrived at Khokhlov’s farm. I saw him, went up and fired at point-blank range from the Vepr carbine – Yuri died on the spot. And 40 minutes later, near the reservoir, located a couple of kilometers from Rudovka, the police found the corpse of Vladimir with a gunshot wound. The same Vepr carbine lay nearby.
The police are working at the crime scene, studying documents and evidence that will help clarify the full picture of what happened, according to the Telegram channel 112.
Note that Khokhlov was the general director of the Kirsanovsky sugar factory. In addition, in 2020, he acquired the companies Pichaevo-Niva and Megafarm Sherementyev, which were part of the Kazan holding Krasny Vostok.
