In the second reading, the State Duma adopted a draft law that implies increased administrative responsibility for conducting election campaigning outside the campaign period and in places where it is prohibited by electoral legislation, writes TASS.
The project was initiated by a group of deputies from the United Russia faction, headed by Olga Savastyanova, Chair of the Committee for Control and Regulation. So, if now the fines for campaigning outside the campaign period range from 1,000 to 1,500 rubles for citizens, then the bill proposes to increase them to the level of 5,000 to 20,000. The fine for officials now ranges from 2 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, it is proposed to increase it to 50 thousand rubles, and for legal entities – up to 500 thousand rubles.
Today, the State Duma also adopted in the third reading a bill prohibiting the disembarkation of passengers under the age of 16 from public transport who have not paid their fare.
