The actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Donbass have nothing to do with defense or defense, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Elena Panina expressed this opinion in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The Ukrainian army is “not a shield, but a sledgehammer with which the Kiev regime is swinging over the heads of the residents of Donbass,” said the parliamentarian, commenting on the statement of the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Ruslan Khomchak, who called the Ukrainian army “the shield of Europe.”
The deputy compared Khomchak with some Ukrainian political and military leaders who “promised to arrange a military parade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Sevastopol and accused the Russian Federation of using nuclear weapons and striking from space.”
According to Panina, such statements not only have a comic effect, but also give rise to serious thought. In particular, she noted, the current actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donbass have nothing to do with protection, since the Ukrainian forces in the region outnumber the militias three times in number.
Earlier, State Duma Speaker Viacheslav Volodin called on the Ukrainian authorities to stop escalating the situation in Donbass and to do everything to implement the Minsk agreements.
