State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Valery Rashkin was suspected of illegal hunting in the Saratov region, reports Region 64, citing an informed source.
According to the newspaper, last night the parliamentarian in a Lada Largus car was stopped by the police and the committee of hunting and fishing. Together with the deputy was a 49-year-old man. It is known that the car is registered with the Saratov regional branch of the Communist Party.
It is noted that upon examination, a dead elk was found in the trunk. According to the source, Rashkin explained that they had found the animal in the forest and decided to take it away and butcher it.
The deputy also confirmed that he was aware of the illegality of his actions.
The publication adds that Rashkin refused to undergo a medical examination for intoxication. Because of this, an administrative protocol was drawn up for the deputy. The document states that Rashkin had a “smell of alcohol from his mouth.”
The circumstances of the incident with the killed animal are being investigated. Law enforcement officers are checking.
