The State Duma commission to investigate the facts of foreign interference in the internal affairs of the Russian Federation revealed attempts to influence the elections held in Russia on September 13, RIA Novosti reports.
It is noted that this was stated by the head of the commission, the chairman of the security and anti-corruption committee Vasily Piskarev.
According to him, we are talking about "massive stuffing and promotion of disinformation on social networks, as well as round-the-clock hacker attacks on the Central Election Commission."
Piskarev explained that the State Duma commission analyzed the information on a daily basis and recorded "deliberate actions to undermine confidence in the elections."
Let us remind you that on September 13 in 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (except for Kabardino-Balkaria and St. Petersburg) more than nine thousand campaigns of all levels took place.
Earlier, the first deputy head of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Alexander Gorovoy, said that no serious violations of public order and electoral legislation had been identified on the day of the single voting. Also, the department told about "massive stuffing" in the elections for provocations.
