Honored Artist of the RSFSR, theater and film actor Yuri Lakhin passed away at the age of 68 in Moscow. Nikolai Kolyada announced his death. The playwright remembered how the actor at one time was the leading actor in the Sverdlovsk drama.

The cause of Yuri’s death was a coronavirus infection. The actor became infected in December, and after that his condition worsened. He was hospitalized and connected to a ventilator. However, they failed to save him. “He and his wife were ill in December, before the New Year. Then Yura had a CT scan and saw complications from the coronavirus. They took me to the hospital and there, unfortunately, they could not help. Lena says that he was well treated and they hoped for a recovery. This is a huge loss. Such a human being, such an actor! ” – said the actress Olga Bityutskaya in conversation with E1.ru.

Yuri Lakhin was born on July 23, 1952 in Zaporozhye. After that she moved with her parents to the Urals. After leaving school, he entered the Sverdlovsk Theater School, from which he graduated in 1978. Immediately after, he became an artist of the Sverdlovsk Academic Drama Theater, where he served for eleven years. After the artist moved to Moscow and got a job at the Theater on Pokrovka. Lakhin was an assistant director of Sergei Artsibashev, who was the founder and artistic director of the theater. In 1996, the artist moved to “Satyricon”.
Lakhin played in the theater in such performances as “Romeo and Juliet”, “Hamlet”, “Profitable Place” and others. In parallel with this, the artist acted in films. On account of his work in dozens of paintings, among which were: “Antikiller”, “Eternal Call”, “Thunders”, “Liquidation” and others. In 1988 he received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In addition, Lakhin was a laureate of the Best Actor Award at the All-Union Festival of Contemporary Play and the Anatoly Papanov Award for Best Actor at the Russian Comedy Festival.
