At night, 801 units of equipment and 452 manual workers worked on the roads, and these are very insignificant figures for a large city such as St. Petersburg. The problem lies in low salaries, since there are only 530 full-time janitors in St. Petersburg. People are in no hurry to get a hard physical job with a salary of 25 thousand rubles, writes the Federal News Agency.
The salary of a driver-mechanic of the highest category is also not high – no more than 50 thousand rubles. The city from the budget in 2021 allocated only 75% of the necessary need. Even with the maximum involvement of workers, it becomes obvious that St. Petersburg cannot cope with the ice, which there is simply no one to clean up.
