Moscow “Spartak” announced the appointment of the ex-player of the red and white and the Russian national team Dmitry Popov to the post of sports director of the club.
This was reported on the official website of the Moscow “Spartak”. Popov already served as the sporting director of the red and whites from 2008 to 2016.
As a player, Popov played for the Moscow club from 1989 to 1993. During this time, he played 104 matches and scored 8 goals. Together with the team, he won the USSR Cup, became the country’s champion three times and reached the semifinals of the European Champions Cup.
At the moment, Spartak is in third place in the Russian championship, gaining 29 points in 15 meetings. Tedesco’s charges will play their next match on November 29 against Rotor. The game will take place at the Otkrytie Arena stadium and will start at 19:00 Moscow time.
