The press service of the South Ossetian government announced the opening of the border with Russia unilaterally, Interfax reports.
It is noted that from 23 hours 59 minutes on Monday, the crossing of the state border with Russia through the multilateral checkpoint "Ruk" is resumed as usual.
"Also, from September 15, 2020, most of the restrictive measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection COVID-19 in the Republic of South Ossetia will be canceled, including the mandatory two-week quarantine stay for everyone entering the republic is automatically lifted," the statement said.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus infection decided to open the land border with South Ossetia.
In the coming days, the corresponding order will be signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
