Smolny did not take measures to prevent an increase in the incidence of coronavirus in St. Petersburg

Recently, the number of cases of coronavirus in Russia has begun to grow rapidly. Moscow suffers the most from the new wave of the pandemic. Petersburg is in second place in terms of the number of cases, which indicates the inability of Smolny to keep the situation under control.

The COVID-19 Control Headquarters published statistical information for August 25. During the day, 43,919 cases were detected in the country, of which 4,423 were in St. Petersburg. During the day, 19 residents of the northern capital died, 222 required hospitalization.

The media wrote that more and more children have recently become infected with the coronavirus. After the start of the school year, this trend may trigger a new wave of the disease.

Experts warned in advance that this autumn could repeat the scenario of the last one. Despite the drop in collective immunity and the increase in the incidence, Smolny did not properly organize primary and secondary vaccination. The topic of covid has practically disappeared from the city agenda, so the residents of St. Petersburg mistakenly decided that it was not necessary to be vaccinated.

Smolny was unable to organize an information campaign about the need to protect oneself from infection by vaccinations. Mask mode and other restrictions are not introduced. The activities of Governor Beglov come down to formal calls to wear masks, but no one takes them seriously.
