Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, called the resolution of the European Parliament on the situation with Navalny gross interference in the internal affairs of Russia.
The resolution of the European Parliament on the situation around the alleged poisoning of Alexei Navalny, in which it is proposed between the lines to adopt a "strategy of democratization" of Russia with a demand to cancel the amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, is a direct and gross interference in the internal affairs of our country, - the words of Slutsky are quoted in the press service of the committee.
He stressed that all the events and statements around the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who is being treated in Germany, are provocative in nature, the purpose of which is to contain Russia and attempts to change Moscow's foreign policy.
This is not about protecting human rights or democracy, all this is to maintain a high degree of anti-Russian hysteria, including in relation to the Nord Stream 2 project, - Slutsky believes.
The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs noted that any resolutions of the European Parliament are exclusively of a recommendatory nature, and expressed the hope that some European politicians "will remain aloof from the politicized assessments of MEPs."
Earlier chernayakobra.ru wrote that the European Parliament adopted a resolution by a majority of votes in connection with the situation with Alexei Navalny. In the document, the parliamentarians called for a freeze of the Nord Stream 2 project and the introduction of sanctions against persons involved in the investigation of the Anti-Corruption Fund of Alexei Navalny.
