Slovak Ice Hockey Union did not receive notifications about the relocation of the 2021 World Cup

The International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) did not inform the Slovak Ice Hockey Union about the transfer of the venue for the World Championship in 2021, TASS reports.

“We do not have any official information yet,” spokesman for the union Peter Janoszek told the agency.

Janoszek also stressed that negotiations on the possibility of organizing a part of the tournament in Slovakia can begin only after the receipt of the relevant official information from the IIHF.

Earlier in the media there were reports about the intention of the organizers of the sporting event to transfer the championship from the Belarusian capital due to the tense political situation in the republic. Matches, presumably, together with Riga can also host Prague or Bratislava.

Let us remind you that the tournament is planned in Minsk and Riga in May-June next year.

Meanwhile, Russian hockey players lost to the Czechs in the youth World Cup match, the meeting ended with a score of 0: 2.
