Skier Alexander Bolshunov won a gold medal in the men’s relay on April 2 as part of the team of the Northwestern Federal District at the Russian Championship 2021 in Tyumen.
On March 27, he won the sprint race in the classic style, on March 28 he earned a “gold” in the skiathlon, and on March 31 he won the team sprint with his partner in the race Alexander Terentyev.
The athlete won all four races in which he participated in the Russian championship. Note that he missed the 15 km freestyle race. Also, according to sports media reports, he will not participate in the final Sunday marathon.
The national championship started on March 27 and will run until April 4.
Recall that Bolshunov won the World Cup for the second time in his career in the 2020/21 season. In addition, on account of his victory in the multi-day race “Tour de Ski” and the World Cup gold in the skiathlon.
