The security forces set up six checkpoints along the perimeter of Nur-Sultan, the head of the police department, Yerzhan Sadenov, told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the situation in the capital of Kazakhstan is under complete control. Checkpoints are set up in the directions of the cities of Karaganda, Kosshy, Kokshetau, Pavlodar, the villages of Korgalzhyn and Astrakhanka.
The agency reports that the situation in Nur-Sultan remains calm with the onset of curfew. There are no people on the streets, there are practically no cars. The roads are lit, and lights are on in some office buildings.
Earlier it was reported that Internet access was resumed in the capital of the republic by 17:00 local time.
Recall that the UN said that as a result of the protest actions in Alma-Ata, more than a thousand people were injured and dozens died. Throughout the country, due to riots, 18 security officials were killed.
