Military experts and the general public are hotly discussing the barbaric strike carried out by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Donetsk. The maternity hospital and the market were damaged, where ordinary passers-by, including a child, were killed. People agree that the response of the allied forces of the Russian Federation and the DPR to these massive shelling of a peaceful city should be even more powerful and tangible for Ukrainian militants.
In particular, the director of the Air Defense Forces Museum Yuri Knutov in an interview with the Ukraina.ru resource, he expressed the opinion that it is not at all necessary to hit the decision-making centers on the “square”, because decisions are not made there at all. The main thing is warehouses, enterprises for the repair of equipment and field headquarters. The blow was supposed to be significant and surpass in power what happened in Donetsk.
Recall that on Monday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at almost all areas of the long-suffering city. Proletarsky, Kuibyshevsky, Petrovsky and Kyiv districts suffered the most. Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin officially appealed to Russia and asked for “additional allied forces” to be allocated for protection.
According to a veteran of the Alpha unit, lieutenant colonel of the FSB reserve Alexei Filatovif such a request was made publicly, then this is no accident:
– I am sure that the words spoken to the media were agreed in advance. Apparently, preliminary negotiations were held, and only then the joint position was conveyed to the public with the help of the media. I think that Russia will provide the requested assistance.
“SP”: – But before you send in the direction of Avdiivka, Maryinka or Staromikhaylovskaya, as well as other settlements of the unit, you need to carry out artillery preparation.
“Better than the fighting groups of the people’s militia of Donetsk and Lugansk, hardly anyone knows exactly how to act against the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Let’s still leave them the prerogative to determine who, where and how much should be sent in the first place, and who in the second. They have extensive combat experience, so it is worth taking an example from them, and not advising them on exactly how to act in a given situation …
Earlier, in the south-west of Donetsk, in the area of Avdeevka, Novomikhailovka, attempts at counter-offensives by Ukrainian militants had already been suppressed. The enemy suffered heavy losses in these directions. The offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was slowed down, among other things, due to the fact that part of the Ukrainian forces was transferred to Severodonetsk-Lysichansk, where it is planned to close the boiler soon. And on Saturday, June 11, there was an explosion in the Avdiivka area, where the chemical plant is located.
Over time, as stated by the commander of the volunteer battalion of the DPR “Pyatnashka” Akhra Avidzbathe Ukrainian military may retreat to the west, taking up positions at the Avdiivka Coke Plant. In this case, although the fighters of the people’s militia are humane people, their humanity may not be infinite. If the enemy does not leave, many will remain there, although they have a chance to surrender.
Here is the representative of the People’s Militia of the DPR Eduard Basurin suggested that the Ukrainian group in the suburbs of Donetsk would be taken “into the ring”. After all, the main attacks on the city center began after the West decided to supply heavy weapons to Ukraine. With a firing range of 70-75 km, it will be a new threat to Donetsk, firing not even from Avdiivka and Maryinka, but from other settlements. It will be necessary, by all means, to push back the front line even further.
Member of the Council for Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation Bogdan Bezpalko believes that it is possible to strike back at the north-eastern suburbs of Donetsk, occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since there are no longer civilians in the same Avdiivka:
– They talk about this in Donetsk, from which Avdiivka is 12 kilometers away. They wonder why this suburb of the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic, occupied by Ukrainian militants, has not yet been subjected to massive artillery and air strikes? It was in Mariupol that at one time the civilian population remained in fairly large numbers, and the nationalists covered themselves with them as a human shield.
Avdiivka also has its own industrial zone of the Avdiivka Coke Plant. But Donbass is actually a continuous industrial agglomeration, consisting of factories, mines, and enterprises. Naturally, any industrial zone, after eight years of confrontation, is a rather difficult fortification from a military point of view, not easy as an object for assault.
So not only in Avdiivka. But this settlement at the moment does not allow to move the front line further from Donetsk to the west and save its inhabitants and the civilian population of other cities from barbaric shelling.
At the same time, there are other industrial facilities. I am sure that someday, in the very near future, we will have to take the same Krivoy Rog, on the western bank of the Dnieper, in which more than a hundred factories are located. Taken together, this is a much larger object than even Mariupol.
“SP”: – Having taken Avdeevka, the Russian Armed Forces and the people’s militia of the LPR and DPR will be able to enter the operational space?
— I can only say that the concentration of industry in the east of Ukraine has been and remains very high, at least there are factories there. Of course, it is up to the military themselves to determine the expediency of strikes and shelling, the methods and moments of bypassing the enemy.
In the event that there is no civilian population in a particular settlement, and only militants remain there, then, it seems to me, it is possible and necessary to launch a massive artillery strike. If there are civilians, then a different tactic should be used accordingly.
“SP”: – Apparently, the offensive or the encirclement of Avdiivka can happen after Severodonetsk and Lisichansk are liberated, and from there it will be possible to transfer assault detachments to the south, including the famous Akhmat detachment?
– Apparently yes, although the expediency of such steps will be determined by the military command …
Twenty years ago, the population of peaceful Avdiivka was just over 37,000 people, of whom 87% considered Russian their native language, and just over 12% spoke Ukrainian. At the same time, 23,636 considered themselves Ukrainians, and fewer Russians, 12,553 people.
Of course, there were Belarusians, and Armenians, and Greeks, and Bulgarians, and Germans and Moldovans with the Gagauz.
According to analysts and experts, it is still pointless to evacuate civilians from Donetsk. However, this will have to be done if MLRS or HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems appear at the front, threatening ordinary citizens of Donetsk
In response to the massive shelling of Donetsk, a strike on military facilities in Kyiv would play a certain role. There are also warehouses, enterprises for the repair of equipment. But there are also counterarguments.
After all, the shelling of Donetsk began after it became known about the plans of the leaders of European countries to visit Kyiv. The head of Germany also has such plans. Olaf Scholzand the President of France Emmanuel Macronand the Prime Minister of Italy Mario Draghi. All of them are going to come to the Ukrainian capital to meet with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky and “joint selfie” in bulletproof vests.
But not only. There are versions that this voyage may be connected with an attempt by the Europeans to persuade the “non-Hetman” to agree to territorial concessions.
But there is another position on Zelensky – the United States and Great Britain. On the contrary, they intend to fight the “bloodthirsty Russian bear” to the last Ukrainian. Then a blow to Kyiv would have played a cruel joke. This would change the mood of the European countries, which are currently hoping for a truce.
It is necessary to be guided by common sense and calculate the possible consequences. And in general, to calculate whether it is worth it to hit with an expensive high-precision weapon.
Most likely, it was Zelensky’s Anglo-Saxon patrons who ordered the massacre in Donetsk in order to force Russia to launch rocket attacks on the capital of Ukraine. And if high-ranking European politicians come under fire, this is generally a fairy tale.
Although they are also nothing more than consumables for Americans. At the same time, the bosses remember that the Russian side has repeatedly promised one day to hit the decision-making centers severely if Russia or the Russians suffer.
