Foreign Ministers of Russia and Turkey Sergei Lavrov and Mevlut Cavusoglu held telephone talks on February 18, according to the official portal of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry said that the conversation took place in the development of the telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and the head of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, which took place earlier on the same day.
“The ministers substantively discussed the situation in Syria with an emphasis on building up joint efforts in the province of Idlib to finally eliminate the terrorist threat,” the Foreign Ministry said.
The heads of departments also confirmed the readiness of Moscow and Ankara to contribute to the peace process in Syria.
