Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Sergei Menyailo as acting head of North Ossetia, having signed a corresponding decree, RIA Novosti reports.
It is specified that the conversation took place via video link, during which the head of state asked about Menyailo’s readiness to take up his official duties. In turn, the plenipotentiary representative in the Siberian Federal District expressed his readiness to work.
Putin also, by his decree, dismissed the head of North Ossetia Vyacheslav Bitarov.
Recall that Bitarov was elected head of North Ossetia in 2016 after the last elections, when 56 deputies of the republican parliament voted for him.
