Investigators seized documents in a criminal case at the office of the Russian Premier League club Tambov. The club’s general director Olga Konovalova told RBC about it.
She said that the procedure is connected with a criminal case, which was initiated on the fact of non-payment of wages to the players. And he added that an economic examination will be carried out within the framework of the same case.
The source clarifies that in early February, the football club appealed to the regional arbitration court with a requirement to declare the team bankrupt. The statement indicated the debt in the amount of 322.45 million rubles. Later, the clubs of the Russian Premier League provided financial assistance to the team. And in mid-March, the club began to close debts to employees.
Earlier it was reported that two players of FC “Tambov” were suspected of betting. Last week, these players were temporarily suspended from training in order to check information about their possible participation in fixing matches.
