Second coronavirus vaccine registered in Russia

A second coronavirus vaccine has been registered in Russia, President Vladimir Putin said in a meeting with government officials.

The drug was developed by the Novosibirsk center "Vector". As Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova emphasized, he is safe, RIA Novosti reports.

According to her, the vaccine is characterized by a lack of reactogenicity and a fairly high level of safety. The first 60 thousand doses of the drug will be produced in the near future.

Golikova added that after that, "Vector" will begin post-registration clinical trials in various Russian regions with the participation of 40 thousand volunteers. It is also planned to conduct a clinical study among 150 people over 60 years old.

Recall that this is the second Russian vaccine against coronavirus. The first drug "Sputnik V" was registered in mid-August. It was reported that more than 12 thousand Russians have already given this vaccine.

In addition, work is underway to create a live vaccine from the Chumakov Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
