The personal physician of former Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili Nikoloz Kipshidze said that the politician could be hospitalized in the near future, Interfax reports.
“I don’t know exactly, but Saakashvili will be hospitalized on Friday. It is not yet known which clinic he will be transported to. The problem is in ensuring the safety of Saakashvili. A reanimobile was brought to the territory of the Rustavi prison in order to provide the necessary assistance in case of anything and transport it to the clinic, ”he said.
It is noted that Saakashvili refuses to be hospitalized in the prison hospital located on the territory of the Gldani prison in Tbilisi.
Mikhail Saakashvili was detained on October 1 on the eve of regional elections. Previously, 13 criminal cases were initiated against him, in some of which he was convicted in absentia. Once in the prison of the city of Rustavi, the ex-head of the country went on a hunger strike.
