Former Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili called on the country’s residents for unity and reconciliation, TASS reports.

It is noted that the ex-president’s letter was read out at a rally in Tbilisi by his lawyer Nika Gvaramia.

“We must all unite, whether inside or outside the country. This is not the time to divide each other on any basis – neither by party, nor by another, ”Saakashvili wrote and added that the citizens of Georgia should forgive each other and“ stop sowing hatred ”.

In addition, he said that the country needs to abandon the ideas of revanchism. According to Saakashvili, another revenge and revenge will destroy society and finally destroy Georgia.

It is noted that on Wednesday, October 13, Saakashvili, who is in prison, was visited by Metropolitan Nikoloz, and then announced the need for general reconciliation. He also expressed hope that Saakashvili will leave the penitentiary in the near future.
