Russian skier Bolshunov fell ill before the start of the world championship

Russian skier Alexander Bolshunov caught a cold at the final stage of preparation for the World Championship, which starts on Thursday in Germany.

During training in the mountains, the 24-year-old athlete caught a slight cold, because of this, Bolshunov’s training regime was changed.

It was decided to “lower him from the mountains ahead of time and send him to Oberstdorf”, where he undergoes the final stage of preparation, reports “Soviet Sport”, referring to the head coach of the national ski team Yuri Borodavko.

It is also reported that skier Denis Spitsov was injured at the test start in Germany, he was diagnosed with a serious muscle injury.

At the same time, Natalya Nepryaeva, who received a severe fracture of her arm a month ago, has already recovered from the operation and will be able to take part in the tournament from the first races. In late January, after falling in a race at the World Cup, she suffered a fracture of two hand bones.

The World Ski Championships will be held from February 25 to March 7 in Oberstdorf, Germany.
