Member of the upper house of the Russian parliament, deputy chairman of the committee on international affairs Volodymyr Dzhabarov, in an interview with Parliamentary Newspaper, pointed to a “very deep” split in Ukrainian society. This, in his opinion, may lead to the rejection of certain territories of Ukraine.
The senator listed the regions where they traditionally communicate in Russian: Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye.
At the same time, he noted that Moscow was alarmed by the current situation in the neighboring country. The head of the Ukrainian state does not actually lead the country, Jabarov emphasized. The deterioration of the political situation is influenced by “certain forces”.
“The split in Ukrainian society is very deep: the regions of the Southeast that don’t even want to hear about returning to a united Ukraine can be followed by Odessa, Kherson, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, which are still waiting,” - the publication quotes the words of the interlocutor.
The senator admits that the Ukrainian authorities may withdraw from the Minsk agreements by the end of the year.
