The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that Russia expects that work on an agreement between the Russian Federation and Iran on visa-free group tourist trips will be completed in the near future, TASS reports.
She clarified that now Rostourism, together with Iranian partners, is working out a mechanism for implementing the agreements laid down in the agreement.
According to Zakharova, the decision to start implementing the agreement will be made, taking into account the restrictions associated with countering the spread of coronavirus and the sanitary and epidemic situation in Russia and Iran.
Recall that an agreement on visa-free group tourist trips for citizens of Iran and Russia was signed at the end of March 2017 during a visit to Moscow by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov suggested that people who are discussing the possibility of introducing exit visas "yearn for the Soviet Union." The minister said that he saw no need for such visas and had not heard of such plans from people involved in decision-making.
