Russian Embassy in Albania responded to accusations against the Russian diplomat

The Russian Embassy in Albania responded to the accusations against the Russian diplomat, declared persona non grata in the country, RIA Novosti reports.

As previously reported, the authorities of the republic accused the diplomat from the Russian Federation of violating the restrictions imposed against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic. He must leave the country within 72 hours.

Representatives of the Russian embassy confirmed the receipt of the note from the Albanian authorities.

The diplomatic mission stressed that they consider the accusations against their employee unfounded. The ministry also noted that the indication in the press release of the name and surname of the diplomat “grossly contradicts established international diplomatic practice.”

We will remind that earlier the Russian Foreign Ministry declared two employees of the Colombian embassy persona non grata in response to the expulsion of two Russian diplomats from the republic.
