Russian curlers beat Canada for the first time in a World Cup match

The players of the Russian men’s curling team defeated their rivals from the Canadian team in the tenth match of the preliminary round of the World Championship.

The meeting, held in Calgary, Canada, ended with a score of 8: 7 in favor of the Russians.

The Russian team includes Sergey Glukhov (skip), Dmitry Mironov, Evgeny Klimov, Anton Kalalb and Daniil Goryachev.

It should be noted that the Russian curlers for the first time beat the Canadians in the World Championships and won the eighth victory in the tournament.

Earlier, the press service of the World Curling Federation (WCF) announced that the Women’s World Curling Championship, which was scheduled to be held in Schaffhausen, Switzerland, from March 19 to March 28, will not take place due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
