Russian companies began to pay compensation for emergency situations at Druzhba

Russian companies began to pay compensation to the Belarusian Mozyr refinery for an emergency on the Druzhba pipeline in the spring of 2019, RIA Novosti writes, citing a statement from the plant’s representatives.

Recall that at the end of April 2019, oil pumping through Druzhba, through which raw materials are exported from Russia through Belarus to Europe, was suspended, as raw materials contaminated with chlorides got there. The deliveries were fully restored only from July 1 of the same year.

The total amount of compensation will be about $ 60 million. The first tranche in the amount of about $ 14 million was received by the Mozyr Refinery the day before.

Earlier this week, Belarus cut off oil transit at the Druzhba section for two days as planned.
