Russian biathletes won the mass start at the Christmas race

Russian biathletes Evgenia Pavlova and Matvey Eliseev won the mass start as part of the Christmas race, reports TASS.

At the competition in Ruhpolding, Germany, they covered the distance with three penalties in 33 minutes 15.3 seconds. German athletes Franziska Preuss and Simon Schemp finished second, 18.2 seconds behind the Russians, with four penalties. Third place went to Austria’s Lisa Teresa Hauser and Julian Eberhard, with 8 penalties, 50.2 seconds back.

According to the agency, the winner of the Christmas race will be announced on Monday following the results of the pursuit race.

Earlier it was reported that Russian biathletes set an anti-record for the number of races without medals.
