Russian biathletes shared the seventh and ninth places with the national teams of Belarus and Ukraine in the medal standings of the World Championship, which ended today in Slovenian Pokljuka.
The Norwegian team became the leader with 7 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals. The second place was taken by the French (2-2-3), the third – by the Swedes (1-3-2).
In the mass start at the World Championships, our biathletes could not win a medal. The winner of the last race of the world championship was the Norwegian athlete Shturla Holm Legrade. Silver went to his compatriot Johannes Dale, bronze was won by Frenchman Quentin Fillon Maillet.
The best among Russians was Alexander Loginov, who finished ninth.
Our national team has only a bronze medal, which the Russians won in the men’s relay on Saturday.
This is the worst result of the national team since 2016, when the team did not win a single medal at the Biathlon World Cup. At the last championship, the Russian Federation had two medals – 1 gold and 1 bronze.
From 4 to 7 March, the Czech Republic will host the Biathlon World Cup.
