The Russian Federation has never had and does not have a goal to capture Kyiv. This statement was made by Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin during an interview with the BBC Broadcasting Corporation.
“None of our leaders, neither the president nor anyone else, has ever said that we would like to capture Kyiv. I do not believe that it is possible to capture or occupy Kyiv. This is a big city,” the ambassador said.
