Moscow will take mirror measures if Turkey does not remove restrictions on Russian carriers. This was stated by the Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Dietrich in a telephone conversation with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey Adil Karaismailoglu, the Russian Ministry of Transport said in a statement.
During the talks, the parties discussed restrictions for Russian road carriers entering Turkey. The Turkish side informed that it intends to remove all previously imposed restrictions in the near future.
In turn, Dietrich promised that Russia will introduce mirror measures if the decision to remove the restrictions is not made before 23 hours May.
B At the end of April, according to Rambler, the Turkish authorities imposed a number of restrictions on the entry of foreign road freight carriers. Drivers were allowed to enter only after signing an obligation to leave the country within 72 hours. The Association of International Road Carriers (ASMAP) called the actions of the Turkish authorities an attempt to squeeze foreign carriers out of the market. The ASMAP indicated that 23 hours are not enough for unloading, loading and customs clearance.
