So, what the most knowledgeable military experts began to talk about a few months ago has happened. And they said that it was almost impossible to solve the tasks of a special military operation with a dedicated limited composition of forces. More strength is needed. Factor of. And the September Kharkov incident confirmed this.
In short, the partial mobilization announced by the President on the morning of September 21 looks like a well-founded and logical step. The measure should influence the course of the special operation and ultimately force anyone to peace. Of course, on our terms.
As President Putin said, and then Defense Minister Shoigu explained, the parameters of partial (not to be confused with full) mobilization are as follows. Approximately 300,000 people are expected to be called. This is approximately 1% of the mobilization resource available in the country, which is estimated at 25 million potential reservists.
Applicants will be selected from the military reserve. That is, of those who have already served their military or contract service and have a military registration specialty. The President promised that all recruits will receive a full social package that contract servicemen have in the special operation zone. And this, according to unofficial data, is about 200-300 thousand rubles of monthly salary during the period of combat missions, as well as all the required insurance payments in case of injury. Jobs will be saved for them. Bank debtors will be given credit holidays.
Robert NIGMATULIN, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences:
— The President of Russia has once again demonstrated our position in relation to the situation in the Donbass and Ukraine. Now we are ready to take the Donetsk and Lugansk republics, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions into the country, if, of course, their residents express such a desire. We will consider everything our territories and, accordingly, we will consider Ukrainian soldiers and NATO mercenaries as persons who invaded the territory of Russia. This is a very difficult confrontation, primarily with NATO, with America. I foresee a sharp aggravation of the situation.
This is a big challenge for our country. But the events of 1991 laid the foundation for this, when our country was divided and the people accepted it. It was, firstly, a completely illegal division – after all, the majority voted against the collapse of the USSR in a special referendum. However, the deputies, the elite did not seem to notice this, they approved it, ratified it, and no one has yet said: “What have we done? What people became happier after that? Secondly, it was an unfair division, because in the territories that separated from us there were many expensive industrial enterprises that were created by joint efforts.
Now we are reaping the fruits of our indifferent attitude to the fate of our country 30 years ago. But let’s hope that now we will still demonstrate unity. I think that in such a difficult time, we should only help the head of our state.
Sergey LIPOVOY, Hero of Russia, chairman of the presidium of the all-Russian organization “Officers of Russia”:
“Our society has not known truly serious trials for more than 70 years. We have already forgotten how the mobilization took place during the First World War, in 1941… Now is the time for a new serious test, and mobilization will undoubtedly contribute to the patriotism of society, which is now high. I think that as a result, society will improve, we will see our true readiness to repel an external threat.
The first stage of partial mobilization has now begun. We are talking about people who have served in the ranks of the Armed Forces, who have combat experience and relevant military specialties.
Further reserves of the 2nd and 3rd stage can be mobilized, which will be prepared accordingly. This will not be done randomly, nothing terrible will happen in the country and society, no tectonic shifts. Society already treats this measure with understanding: given the realities of the special operation in Ukraine, this step is long overdue.
Mikhail MYAGKOV, Scientific Director of the Russian Military Historical Society:
— Partial mobilization in the Russian Federation is not something unique for our country. Such measures were carried out during the battles of the Red Army with the Japanese aggressors during the battles on the Khalkhin-Gol River in Mongolia and during the battles with the Finns in 1939-1940.
The beginning of the military special operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine caused an unusual moral upsurge among the vast majority of Russian citizens. The unconditional support of the SVO was manifested in the collection of the necessary financial and material resources for our fighters, in sending humanitarian aid to the residents of the DPR, LPR and liberated regions of Ukraine, sending simple, but at the same time touching letters (especially for children) expressing gratitude to our soldiers.
Russia will not perish, as it has not perished before. Nobody has ever brought Russia to its knees yet. About these lessons of the past, about the physical and spiritual failure of the so-called. the collective West – at various times united by Napoleon or Hitler – is now forgotten again in Washington, Brussels, Berlin. The great tradition of our country is not only mercy, but also the manifestation of an iron will against aggressors, the ability to “not spare one’s life” for the sake of Victory.
