Russia ranks third in the world in terms of coverage of the population by testing for coronavirus. This was stated by the deputy head of Rospotrebnadzor Irina Bragina.
She recalled that the first tests for diagnosing coronavirus infection appeared in Russia in February last year.
“Over the course of a year, we have been improving this work, and now we are in third place in the world,” RIA Novosti quotes Bragin.
According to her, now the results of 99% of tests are issued in less than 48 hours. Bragina added that the diagnostic capabilities continue to expand, quite a few different test systems have already been registered.
Recall that in mid-March, Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko announced the registration of a test system in the country to detect a number of coronavirus strains. It was also reported that the country has created the first test to determine the amount of coronavirus.
