Politician Aleksey Zhuravko told why the negotiations on Donbass took place without the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
Last Tuesday, March 30, talks were held between the leaders of Russia, France and Germany. Vladimir Putin, Emmanuel Macron and Angela Merkel talked via videoconference. One of the main topics of discussion was the escalation of the conflict in Donbass.
It is noteworthy that Vladimir Zelensky was not invited to participate in the conversation. His press secretary Julia Mendel reacted to the incident. She noted that the Ukrainian leader maintains contact with all the countries of the “Normandy format”, and no decisions regarding Ukraine will be taken in secret from her.
Aleksey Zhuravko, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, expressed his opinion on the situation. In a conversation with RIA FAN, the politician said that the Ukrainian president had completely discredited himself. “Russia has put a fat point on Zelensky, as it happened earlier with Poroshenko,” he stressed.
According to the expert, the Kremlin is tired of the fact that Ukraine is in no hurry to implement the Minsk agreements and continues to deceive the countries of the Normandy Four. Zhuravko added that Moscow began to treat Kiev worse after being accused of interfering in internal affairs.
“Russia sent a signal to France and Germany – Berlin and Paris must reassure Vladimir Zelensky,” the politician concluded.
