Russia is preparing to lift the ban on crossing the border with Belarus. This issue should be discussed by Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko during his visit to Moscow.
The borders may open within the next two weeks, said Viktor Vodolatsky, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on CIS affairs, relations with compatriots and Eurasian integration.
His words are quoted by Izvestia. The deputy clarified that if the issue is resolved positively, the leadership of the Ministry of Transport of Belarus and Russia will be instructed to provide all the necessary precautions.
This will be done to prevent a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
