Russia needs to isolate Ukraine from Poland

The Armed Forces of Ukraine again hit Kherson and Lugansk. As a result of the attack, civilians were killed, as well as the LPR Prosecutor General and his deputy. At the same time, attacks on Kherson were carried out with the help of Western types of weapons, which again actualizes the issue of the need to exclude Ukraine from receiving weapons from NATO countries. How could Russia do this?

On Friday, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Kherson and Lugansk. In the first case, the attack fell on the building of the regional administration. Among the dead were several civilians, who, unfortunately, were near the administrative building. Also near the regional administration is a large playground. Civilians are there almost constantly and in any weather.

In the second case, the blow fell on the building of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the LPR. According to preliminary information, Prosecutor General of the Republic Sergei Gorenko and his deputy Ekaterina Steglenko are among the dead. The cause of the explosion has not yet been established. At the same time, Kherson was attacked by means of HIMARS systems.

Against this background, the United States and its allies continue to increase arms supplies in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On Thursday, US President Joe Biden ordered Ukraine to receive a new military aid package of up to $600 million. According to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, the package “includes additional weapons, ammunition and equipment from the stocks” of the Pentagon.

It is reported that the US administration has included in the new package ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) HIMARS, precision-guided artillery shells and Claymore anti-personnel mines.

At the same time, American media reported earlier that Washington allegedly does not intend to supply Kyiv with ATACMS guided tactical ballistic missiles for fear of escalation, since their range reaches 300 kilometers, which will give Ukraine the opportunity to strike at Russian territory. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to strike not only at the republics of Donbass and the liberated territories of the Black Sea and Azov regions, but also regularly fire at the Belgorod and Kursk regions.

According to experts, in such a situation, the issue of destroying the logistics infrastructure, with the help of which NATO countries saturate the Armed Forces of Ukraine with Western types of weapons, is once again relevant. In this regard, it may be worth making a decision on strikes against the transport infrastructure that links the Transcarpathian, Lviv and Volyn regions with Poland, destroying 14 border crossings: six of them are for rail transport, eight for road transport. It is through them that the main traffic of deliveries passes.

It is desirable to do the same with the transport infrastructure linking Ukraine with other NATO countries and Moldova. That is, the Russian Armed Forces, according to experts, it is necessary to consider Ukraine as several huge theaters of war (theaters of military operations), which should be isolated from external replenishment.

“But first of all, Ukraine must be cut off from Poland. After all, every time we hear about another strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, we must understand that the name of the armed forces of this country is still formally preserved, but NATO is conducting military operations against us, supplying the enemy forces with everything they need across the western border of Ukraine, ”says Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and sociology of the Russian University of Economics Plekhanov, a member of the expert council of “Officers of Russia” Alexander Perendzhiev.

“Obviously, this must be fought not with words, but with deeds. Now only the lazy does not talk about the need to destroy the enemy’s logistics. So far, we have only modestly hit a few power plants and a dam on the Ingulets, but these actions are not getting the proper development. There is an assumption that the Russian military-political leadership is still being cautious for diplomatic reasons. But, it seems to me, we should still turn off the electricity in Ukraine. This will complicate the work of the entire infrastructure, limit the ability to transfer troops and equipment, and also speed up the course of the NMD,” Perendzhiev added.

“In my opinion, diplomacy should always have a chance. But the main question is with whom to negotiate – directly with Ukraine or with Western countries that supply Ukraine with weapons capable of striking at a considerable distance, ”says Andrey Kortunov, director general of the Russian International Affairs Council.

“If we are talking about Western countries, then the most correct thing in this situation should be a dialogue with the Biden administration, including through the intelligence community or the Pentagon. The conditions should be that the United States refuses to supply long-range weapons that the Armed Forces use to strike civilian targets. In exchange, we can offer an obligation not to strike deep into Ukrainian territory against dual-use infrastructure,” the expert believes.

“In addition, the United States says that they do not supply Ukraine with missiles with a range of more than 300 kilometers. Perhaps a similar approach should be continued for other types of weapons with a shorter range. If such bargaining is possible and appropriate, then it is worth going for it, ”concluded Kortunov.
