Mikhail Vinogradov, authorized representative of the Russian Federation to the ECHR, condemned Ukraine’s complaint to the ECHR on the removal of children from Donbass to the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports.
Vinogradov commented on Ukraine’s complaint concerning the circumstances of the alleged abduction and transfer of children from Ukraine to Russia on June 12, July 26 and August 8, 2014. He stressed that the facts and circumstances of the case did not indicate a violation of the Convention in connection with the voluntary movement of children accompanied by adults, which was done solely for the purpose of saving the lives and health of children.
According to him, this is confirmed by a letter of guarantee from the Consul General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don, Vitaly Moskalenko.
Recall that today the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) in Strasbourg began considering complaints from the Netherlands and Ukraine against Russia in the case of the crash of flight MH17 in Donbass in 2014.
Mikhail Vinogradov also said that the authorities of the Netherlands are clearly misleading the European Court in that the Russian authorities left the legal requests unanswered. According to him, Russia complied with 28 out of 29 requests from the Netherlands for legal assistance under MH17.
On July 17, 2014, passenger Boeing, operating flight MH17 from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed in the Donetsk region. The incident killed 298 people. The Dutch prosecutor’s office in December last year announced the charges in the case.
The Russian Foreign Ministry insists that the accusation of the involvement of the Russians in the crash of the Malaysian Boeing is voiceless. According to the department, it is based only on the testimony of anonymous witnesses. The ministry called the investigation biased and one-sided.
