Russia and Venezuela have signed an intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in the field of space, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov.
As a result of negotiations with Vice President for Economic Affairs, Minister of Oil Industry of Venezuela Tarek El-Aissami, he noted that during the meeting, the first serious step was taken towards the practical implementation of projects in such a field as the peaceful use of outer space, TASS reports. According to Borisov, the signing of the agreement will allow Russia and Venezuela to create the necessary basis for starting the development of mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister added that the potential for cooperation in this area represents a wide range of opportunities for applying complex technological solutions of the space industry in everyday life.
Borisov noted the successful development of relations between Russia and Venezuela, even in the face of external challenges. He expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics of contacts between the two states and stressed the strategic nature of their partnership.
In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister wished success to the Venezuelan government in the fight against the spread of coronavirus and the speedy normalization of the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the country.
