RuBaltic: Nuland's visit to Moscow is a slap in the face for US allies in Eastern Europe

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke about the easing of the sanctions regime. She explained that the change in the lists took place on an equal footing. Washington excluded part of the Russians from the lists, and Moscow excluded members of the delegation led by US Undersecretary of State Nuland.

“Thus, the Americans unknowingly slapped a diplomatic slap in the face of their most loyal allies in Eastern Europe,” said the portal’s columnist.

RuBaltic drew attention to the fact that the United States decided to ease restrictions for the sake of the possibility of negotiations with Russia in Moscow. Washington again showed a real attitude towards partners and allies.

“The Americans once again made it clear that the interests of NATO allies and allies outside NATO, Crimea, Donbass, Ukraine and principles do not matter to them when the urgent task is to agree on something with Russia,” the newspaper wrote.

The journalist noted that America sees China as its opponent. That is why the United States is abandoning everyone and leaving Central Asia. Negotiations in Russia, the journalist said, are needed to prevent a military-political alliance between the PRC and the Russian Federation.

In order not to allow China to take a leading position in the international arena, the United States is ready to lift sanctions, forget about Ukraine and the Baltic NATO allies. RuBaltic noted that Washington will be able to sacrifice anything if agreements with Moscow are concluded.
