Clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) voted to cancel the postponement of matches due to the detection of cases of coronavirus in the teams, TASS reports.
In this regard, appropriate changes were adopted in the regulations, excluding the postponement of the games of the national championship against the backdrop of a pandemic. Now this decision will be considered at a meeting of the bureau of the executive committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU).
So, it is expected that from the 2020/21 season there will be no postponements of matches due to the coronavirus among players.
RPL has previously published a calendar of games for the new season.
Recall that in the last RPL season, after COVID-19 outbreaks in teams, some matches were postponed or canceled altogether. For example, FC Sochi several times in a row refused to play the Russian Premier League due to illness of its players. After the players became infected with the coronavirus, the meetings of Orenburg with Krasnodar and the Yekaterinburg Ural were also canceled.
