The head of Rostourism Zarina Doguzova held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Egypt Khaled Elenani, during which she urged to take control of the situation with queues at the airports of the republic, RIA Novosti reported.
During the conversation, Doguzova drew the attention of her colleagues to the numerous complaints of Russian tourists who, due to long waiting times during security checks, are late for their flights, therefore they are forced to purchase additional tickets at their own expense.
In addition, Russians are dissatisfied with airports, waiting areas are not equipped with a sufficient number of seats, there is no drinking water, and social distance is not observed. There are fears that the situation will worsen in winter, when the flow of travelers to Egyptian resorts will increase significantly.
In this regard, the head of the Federal Tourism Agency proposed to the Egyptian authorities several solutions, including a possible redistribution of passenger traffic, the use of additional boarding gates, as well as the equipment of waiting areas.
Elenani assured that he knows about the relevant problems and participates in their solution.
As a reminder, Russia has resumed charter flights to Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh on November 9.
