Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said he would request NASA’s position on the US refusal to issue a visa to Russian cosmonaut Nikolai Chub for a trip to training. He wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, a TASS source said that the United States refused to issue a visa to Nikolai Chub without explaining the reasons. The astronaut was scheduled to travel to the United States to take part in training at the Johnson Space Center.
The head of Roscosmos wrote that he would send a request to the head of NASA regarding this incident.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the United States artificially restricts the issuance of non-immigrant visas to Russians in order to achieve unilateral concessions in accordance with their interests. According to the diplomat, the situation with the issuance of visas to citizens of the Russian Federation is still difficult. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov emphasized that the United States deliberately misled people about progress in resolving the visa crisis.
