Russia has repeatedly offered to the head of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov assistance in resolving the situation in the republic, RIA Novosti reports.
As specified, on Monday, the president of the republic in Bishkek met with the deputy head of the presidential administration Dmitry Kozak, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on behalf of Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic Sadyr Japarov.
It is noted that from the first days of the crisis in the country, Jeenbekov held repeated telephone conversations with Putin. The press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan stressed that the Russian side expressed concern and offered its assistance in resolving the situation.
Let us remind you that after the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan, protests began. Those who disagreed with the voting results took to the streets, and riots broke out. Against the background of the evolving situation, the heads of four regions, the country's prime minister, the mayor of Bishkek and a number of other officials have resigned. The republic's CEC declared the results of the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan invalid.
Earlier, the Kyrgyz parliament approved a new government, which will be headed by Sadyr Japarov.
