Referendum on the Constitution of Belarus to be held in February

In Belarus, a constitutional referendum will be held in February 2022. This was stated by the President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko during a speech at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, RIA Novosti reports.

“Recently, a constitutional reform was carried out and grandiose plans for the reconstruction and arrangement of Russia were outlined. The same is true for Belarus, it is preparing to follow up the constitutional reform, ”Lukashenka said.

He added that the public referendum is the “guarantee of an orderly movement” of the republic.

In November 2020, Lukashenko announced that he intends to leave the post of President of Belarus after the new Constitution is adopted in the country.

Today, November 4, the head of the republic announced the receipt of a revised version of amendments to the country’s constitution. According to him, he is ready to discuss it with the working group on the preparation of a new document.

Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said that the Russian Federation is ready to include a Belarusian cosmonaut in the ISS crew in the near future.
