Damage received during the hostilities was the main problem for ships leaving the port of Mariupol. This was stated by the commander of the Novorossiysk naval base, Rear Admiral Viktor Kochemazov.
Russian sappers finally cleared the territory of the Mariupol port on June 12. During the special operation, humanitarian corridors were opened for the passage of ships, writes RIA Novosti.
“The vessels received significant damage during the conduct of hostilities in the port, some were deliberately put out of order (deliberately) by the military personnel of the armed forces of Ukraine in order to prevent them from leaving,” Kochemazov added.
Last Tuesday dry cargo ship Azov Concord with the Maltese flag left the port of Mariupol. Now the ship is heading for Novorossiysk. Five more foreign ships continue to remain on the territory.
