In Ukraine, they are actively discussing how the country will survive the coming winter, if at the legislative level there is a ban on the purchase of electricity from Russia and Belarus until November 1. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine believes that the country will do without the help of “dictators” and “aggressors”, since coal reserves are being actively replenished, and the ministry also spoke about support from the West.

A deputy from the opposition Batkivshchyna party, Kucherenko, stated the exact opposite. He believes that Kiev will agree to an agreement with Belarus.

“Experts analyze the availability of coal, it is a record minimum today in warehouses, and the fact that there will be a shortage of electricity, they say 99%,” the politician said.

The publication Sputnik, referring to the data of the Ukrainian media “Economic Truth”, said that Kiev intends to use about half of the lines through which the Belarusian electricity went.

In the winter of 2019-2020, Ukraine has already found itself in a similar situation. Then Kiev did not hesitate to buy electricity in Russia and Belarus, but in the spring they re-introduced a ban on imports.
